Overview

Temple Diagnostics ("we," "our," or "us") provides food scanning, nutrition analysis, restaurant discovery, and saved diary features. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have across the app and website.

Temple Diagnostics is built on a simple principle: your data exists to serve you, not to be sold. We do not sell personal information, and never will.

Information We Collect

• Email address and authentication data when you create an account, sign in, join the website waitlist, or contact us.
• Food scan results and related metadata, such as nutrition analysis, barcode values, menu items, and restaurant names.
• Photos you choose to capture or upload so we can analyze food items, improve the service, and train our models.
• Diary entries, favorites, nutrition goals, dietary preferences, allergens, and any health-related notes or medical-condition inputs that you choose to save in the app.
• Precise location when you enable restaurant discovery.
• Website waitlist signups and support form messages you submit.

Sensitive Nutrition and Health Data

We treat food scans, nutrition results, diary entries, allergens, dietary preferences, and health-related inputs such as medical-condition notes as sensitive data. We use this information only to provide Temple Diagnostics features you request, such as food analysis, nutrition tracking, personalized filtering, and restaurant recommendations.

We do not sell this data, do not share it with data brokers, and do not use it for advertising, ad targeting, or cross-app tracking.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and operate account-based features.
• To analyze food, barcode, and menu images and return nutrition results.
• To power restaurant search and map results near your current location.
• To provide support, respond to messages, and manage website waitlist communications.
• To maintain security, rate-limit abuse, and support account deletion workflows.

Service Providers

We use third-party infrastructure to operate the product:

• Supabase for authentication, database storage, and server-side functions.
• Google Gemini, accessed through our Supabase proxy, for food and menu analysis.
• Resend for website waitlist and support email delivery when enabled.
• Vercel for hosting the Temple Diagnostics website.

Photos, AI Processing, and Location

When you use AI-powered scanning, the selected food or menu image is compressed and sent through an authenticated Supabase Edge Function to Google Gemini so we can return the analysis you requested.

Food photos you upload may be retained by us and linked to your account so we can improve the service, evaluate model quality, and train future models. If you save a result to your diary or favorites, a compressed copy of the image may also be stored locally on your device for that entry.

If you enable location access, we use your precise location to request nearby restaurant results and directions. We do not use location for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Advertising and Data Sharing

Temple Diagnostics is not an advertising-supported health app. We do not sell personal information, do not share user data with data brokers, and do not use food, nutrition, diary, allergen, medical-condition, or location data for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.

Retention

• Account email and authentication records are kept until you delete your account, subject to any legal or security obligations.
• Uploaded food photos may be retained while they are operationally useful for app functionality, service improvement, and model training, unless you request deletion where applicable.
• Signed-in scan history records stored through our backend are retained until account deletion. Recent non-pinned scan history on device is limited, and older unpinned items may roll off automatically.
• Diary entries, favorites, and nutrition goals are stored on your device until you delete them, remove the app, or delete your account on that device.
• Website waitlist signups and support messages are retained until they are no longer operationally needed or you ask us to delete them where applicable.

Your Rights

• You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data.
• You can delete your Temple Diagnostics account from within the app.
• We do not sell your personal information. That is a core guiding principle of Temple Diagnostics.

If you are covered by laws such as the CCPA or GDPR, we will honor applicable access, deletion, correction, and portability rights.

Children's Privacy

Temple Diagnostics is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
